Shruti Hassan - bikini in ‘Luck’

Kamal Haasan has yet to see his daughter Shruti’s B-Town debut, Luck. Apart from singing and performing stunts for Soham Shah’s actioneer, the newbie has also shed her inhibitions. Shruti’s skinfest in a bikini for Luck was because the scene needed it. Says Shruti, “When Soham narrated the script, I did not even consider the bikini thing as a big deal — it was logical to the premise. While shooting for it, the weather was very weird that day. It was freezing cold, but apart from that it was like any other scene in the film for me.”, Shruti did work out to get a toned body. Moreover she worked more hard to maintain it. The sequence was shot out in Cape Town. The temperature was only two degrees. She had to brave the icy weather for the shoot.” The director adds, “The scene involves Imran Khan, Ravi Kissen and Mithun Chakraborthy. Shruti was not at all apprehensive of wearing a two-piece swim wear as she was aware of it from before. The scene is totally justified

GLOBAL SEX SURVEY

A groundbreaking international sex survey reveals that couples in Western countries are the most sexually satisfied, while countries in the East appear to be less satisfied.University of Chicago researchers surveyed more than 27,000 middle-aged and elderly people worldwide about their sex lives, regardless of sexual orientation. Alex Chadwick speaks with Edward Laumann, the University of Chicago sociologist who conducted the study.

Some of the study's highlights:

• Researchers surveyed sexual well-being in 29 nations, including countries they call "male-centered sexual regimes" where men generally control the sexual conduct of women, and "gender-equal sexual regimes" that emphasize equality between sexual partners.

• The survey polled 13,882 women and 13,618 men aged 40 to 80.

• Only 49 percent of men and 32 percent of women indicated that sex was extremely or very important to their overall life.

• Men who had multiple sex partners were less likely to be satisfied with their relationships, but more likely to believe that sex was important.

• Men report higher levels of sexual satisfaction than women, regardless of nation.

• Asian countries all reported low levels of sexual satisfaction and moderate to low levels of satisfaction with their relationships and the importance of sex.

• Israeli women placed the highest value on the importance of sex -- the lowest score came from women in Taiwan. Among men, Brazil scored the highest and Thailand the lowest.

• Overall, people in Austria are most satisfied with their sex lives, and Japanese are least satisfied.

A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.
A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need.

A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.

A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

To be happy with a man, you must understand him a lot and love him a little.
To be happy with a woman, you must love her a lot & not try to understand her at all.

A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't.
A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, and she does.

A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

There are 2 times when a man doesn't understand a woman - before marriage and after marriage

Viagra Launch in India

At last Viagra, the magic pill from Pfizer to treat erectile dysfunctions (ED), has reached the Indian market after seven years of introduction, but with a price tag of Rs 463 per 50 mg tablet and Rs 594 for 100 mg tablet - marginally higher than the prices of dozen odd generic Indian versions available in the market. Pfizer India reasoned, “Patients and doctors in India have been seeking introduction of Viagra for sometime. They want the certainty of accessing the genuine Viagra and the peace of mind that comes with buying the original product.”

Company officials said Viagra would be imported from France with packs having a special hologram to ensure its authenticity. Viagra will be available in 50 mg and 100 mg pills at chemist outlets in 100 cities across India. Pfizer will promote the drug to urologists, endocrinologists, venerologists and psychiatrists. The company plans to target 10 to 15 per cent of the Rs 75 to Rs 100-crore ED market in India, in the initial year. At present, Viagra is available in India in the grey market, valued to the tune of about 10 per cent of the total ED market in India.

Dr.Peter Ellis, Executive director Pfizer UK and the joint patent holder and part of the team that discovered the molecule, was present at the function and said a few recent reports associated with Viagra causing blindness among users was baseless. More than 450 clinical trials have been conducted on Viagra and coloured vision was discovered only among 3 per cent of the users and the drug never decreases blood flow to the eyes to cause blindness. More than 27 million men have been treated by the drug, 157 million prescriptions already given, 1.87 billion tablets sold, and about 7,18,000 physicians prescribe the drug across 123 countries. PDE5 inhibitors are currently being explored for various indications like blood pressure, angina, fertility, stroke, CVD diseases, memory disorders etc. and have exciting results so far, claims Ellis.

According to Dr.Sudhakar Krishnamoorthy an expert on ED, the disease was prevalent among 152 million men in 1995 worldwide and is expected to reach 322 million by 2025. ED drug market is valued $ 3 billion now and is poised to double by 2010. In India, about 15 brands are available to tap an estimated market of Rs 338.4 million. It is estimated that India have 90 millions ED infected males and more than 50 percent of the males above 40 years of age suffer from the disease.
